Anymore, the Retail section of Fortune Magazine reads like hard news. Mergers. Bitcoin. Walmarts Starbuck Home Depot. It’s a who’s who not just of business but of commerce, of e-commerce of economy, of finance, of currency and alt-currency and cryptocurrency, of so many aspects that impact our daily lives to a degree larger than many realize.

Just look at some of the recent stories Fortune’s Retail section has put out:

  • Billie Could Be the Dollar Shave Club for Women - fortune.com/2017/12/08/billie-women-razor-funding
  • Walmarts Changing Its Name Away From ‘Stores’
  • Macy’s Has Secret Weapon For Increasing Beauty Sales - fortune.com/2017/10/04/macys-bluemercury/
  • Legal Marijuana Sales Expected to Exceed $10 in 2017 - fortune.com/2017/12/06/legal-marijuana-sales-10-billion
  • Starbuck Unveils Christmas Tree Frappuccino

Admittedly, there is some fluff there, but even the fluffy stuff involves big names and big money. But, note how closely even this fairly arbitrary sampling of subjects mirrors what you’ll find in the pages of a big-market newspaper or on a national newscast. So, I recommend that when you get your copy of Fortune Magazine or when you click on the Fortune.com website, read up on the retail section because that’s where the news is.
